This has important implications for the organization and delivery of services and for health care costs. Although the recommendations in this report address the delivery of psychosocial health services to individuals diagnosed with cancer, the committee believes the model for care delivery developed for the report and the accompanying recommendations are applicable to the health care of all with chronic illnesses.
